So this picture serves two purposes:

1. To show off the entries to a Bake-Off hosted by the Business Office of Columbia Law School who challenged Student Services and my office, Social Justice Initiatives. (Yes, we have lives outside of serving the law students). Above is an entry by my coworkers: salted caramel cupcakes by Stephanie and fruit tarts by Brian. Our office was reigning champs but lost to a chocolate entry. WE WERE ROBBED! I think the fruit tart should have taken it all - it was seasonal and the crust was made from scratch!

and,
2. To show off my new camera, the Canon S95, (yet to be named), which is known to be the “point and shoot for photographers.” I LOOOOVE IT. It has all the functionality of a DSLR all in the size of a point and shoot. I’m really excited to learn more tricks and functions, and just be that amateur photographer we all strive to be. I am ESPECIALLY EXCITED to take pictures of my soon to be out of my sister-in-law’s belly, niece Kira Bell. I’m pretty behind-the-camera-shy, but I’m hoping this camera will help me get over that.

And in other news, I’m SO EXCITED for NYC in the summer time! I’m meeting my niece in the beginning of June and I’m also going to Brazil for 9 days at the end of June. So many things to look forward to! Let the summer begin!
